If you prefer not to brave a takeaway on the beach, then try Chris Old's Clipper Restaurant, recently refurbished and offering a varied and reasonably priced menu, including fish and chips - you can watch the sea from the comfort and warmth of the dining room.

With seating for around 50 people inside, and 40 people outside in the Tea Garden, you can book ahead or just arrive. Depending on the time of your visit, the restaurant serves morning coffee, light lunches or snacks, afternoon teas including traditional Cornish cream teas or full evening meals and traditional roast Sunday lunches. The evening menu is served from 6.30pm to 8.00pm ( last orders are 8.00pm, booking ahead is advisable).

The Clipper Restaurant has a table licence - the wine list comprises of wines specially selected by Chris from the Countries where he played cricket and originally tasted the wines.

Chris Old's Clipper Restaurant specialises in home cooked meals, home made cakes and traditional Cornish cream teas. Cornish and West Country produce is used as much as possible.

SOUP OF THE DAY
Served with a white or brown bread roll and butter

MUSSELS
A choice of garlic or Provencal served with a brown granary roll

MEDLEY OF SHELLFISH
A selection of scampi, lobster tails and scallops decorated with a salad garnish.

OMLETTE
A light but substantial dish, choose one from any of the following fillngs:
Cheese, mushroom, tomato, or ham. Served with salad or vegetables and chips.

FISH AND CHIPS
a choice of lightly battered cod, haddock, or scampi coated in breadcrumbs. Served with chips and garden peas or mushy peas.

RUMP STEAK
8oz. Steak cooked to the way you like. Served with onion rings, mushrooms, tomato, peas and a choice of chips or jacket potatoes or Cornish new potatoes (when in season).
