Chris Old, who may be remembered as a professional cricketer, playing for Yorkshire, England and towards the end of his cricketing career Warwickshire, and his wife Letitia operate Chris Old’s Restataurant at Praa Sands in Cornwall. The business consists of a café, a fully licensed bar and in the evening a restaurant. There is also a fish & chip take-away.
Chris Old’s Restaurant is a member of Visit Cornwall & Taste of The West. All the menus offer good, wholesome, traditional meals, suitable for children, pensioners and vegetarians. The ingredients are locally sourced where ever possible.
Chris Old’s Restaurant menus have a bias towards fish dishes, making good use of the local Cornish fish. Sea Bass caught off the beach is used in our Praa Sands Medley. Traditionally cooked fish & chips, Yorkshire style, are very popular with all our customers, many of whom travel from all over Cornwall and the rest of the Country to eat with us.
Serving well balanced, healthy meals are very important to Chris & Letitia; customers are bowled over by Chris’s curries, whilst others enjoy the variety of the Salad Bowl. Alternatively indulge yourself with home made cakes or a traditional Cornish cream tea.

The bar offers a selection of draught and bottled beers. The wine list features specially selected wines by Chris Old, many of which are from the Countries where he played cricket.
All the wines and food are reasonably priced. Regular customers are recognised for their loyalty.
Every table has a sea view at Chris Old’s Restaurant both in the bar / dining area and the garden. The view is panoramic and spectacular; overlooking the popular South Coast Surfing beach of Praa Sands towards Rinsey Head and The Lizard. Check out the web cam, as the surfers do, to experience one aspect of the view. Everyone who visits Chris Old’s Restaurant admires the view, the food, and the welcoming atmosphere. There is limited parking on the premises but plenty of parking in the adjacent pay & display car parks.
So next time you are going for a run out why not bowl along to Praa Sands and experience the traditional wholesome food at Chris Old’s or just “chill out” at Chilly’s Bar?
